Postcard issued to commemorate the late Ken Farmer’s 1000th goal kicked for North Adelaide on May 7th, 1938 vs. Norwood at Prospect Oval. Measures 140 x 86 mm and sold for 3d. Over 102 Pounds was raised towards Farmer’s testimonial (with the money a piano was purchased and still used by his son and family to this day!)
Farmer went on to kick 1419 club goals and remarkably booted a century of goals for 11 consecutive seasons – surely a record that will never be beaten…
The card is in good condition overall apart from a light crease that runs from about a third of the card in from left to right and runs the length of the card. Even scarcer given the fact it has been autographed in black ink at lower right!
